Terms of Service
The governing rules of the Cape Reef Club community.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering for an account on Cape Reef Hub, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and the Constitution of the Cape Reef Club. This is a voluntary association under South African common law.
2. Membership & Conduct
Membership is currently free and open to all marine enthusiasts in the Western Cape. All members must adhere to the Code of Conduct:
- Treat all members and guests with respect and courtesy.
- No commercial exploitation of Club platforms without Committee approval.
- Compliance with South African environmental laws and regulations.
- Honest representation of livestock health and equipment condition.
3. Marketplace Disclaimer
The Cape Reef Club provides the Marketplace platform as a service to its members. The Club:
- Does not verify the condition of equipment or health of livestock.
- Is not a party to any transaction between members.
- Is not liable for any losses, damages, or disputes arising from marketplace trades.
4. Wiki & Content
By contributing to the Knowledge Base or Forum, you grant the Club a non-exclusive, perpetual license to display and use that content for educational purposes. All content must be your own or properly credited.
5. Safety of Minors
In accordance with Article 3 of the Constitution, minor members (under 16) are restricted from certain public interactions. Any adult contacting a minor through the hub agrees that the minor's guardian will be CC'd on all correspondence.
6. Limitation of Liability
As a voluntary non-profit association, the Club's liability is limited to its own assets. Members are not personally liable for the debts or obligations of the Club (Article 9.1).
